The Community Voice

The Community Voice was set up in 1990 by local people to provide a link between themselves and Mount Vernon Hospital. Over the years its activities have widened and it now links over 50 groups and individuals, who want good NHS services in NW London and SW Herts.  The Community Voice monitors Hillingdon, Mount Vernon, Harefield, Northwick Park and Watford General hospitals and surrounding community health services. The Community Voice also campaigns and has been extremely active in raising petitions to keep cancer services at Mount Vernon. Members now include over 50 local organisations, patient and community groups plus individual members. Monthly meetings are held at Mount Vernon and offer members a unique opportunity for direct contact with senior decision makers in the NHS. Visit the website by clicking here.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Community Voice please  contact the Secretary, Margaret Ross, on 020 8868 8429 or the Chairman, Joan Davis on 01895 636095 or e-mail joandavis@onetel.com.

Local Healthwatch

Local Healthwatch was established in April 2013 and replaced LINks carrying forward both existing LINks functions and new, additional functions. A new consumer champion for both health and social care Healthwatch England was established in October 2012 at national level. Each local Healthwatch will be responsible to its local authority  and not to Healthwatch England and must involve lay people and volunteers in its decision making.
